What makes me laugh is the email inviting me to book the interview/registration only appears in my RM emails but the one confirming the date/time of said registration made it through to my isp email account.

Dear Daniel,

"Thank you for your interest in working for Royal Mail this Christmas. We endeavour to respond to every single Christmas application that we receive. However, if you have not heard from us by the 25th October 2013 then unfortunately we have been unable to find a role for you this year."

It doesn't look promising for me on this occasion. Last year and the year before I had received the documents on the 16th and the interview booking in sheet on the 17th, and with many stating that they have already booked in for interviews, it's looking all the more likely that my application received is going to switch to application unsuccessful in the next few weeks. Not that I can understand why, because I did the job very well for the past two years.

Has anyone in the Manchester area received any update on their application? Attachment documents/booking slot?

received the same today.

No but I have a bad feeling about Christmas that we will get very little work only perhaps for the casuals they are still taking on although there has been very few shifts recently because of course they are much cheaper than us older hands.

Does anyone know the interview process this year? The interviews at Sunderland are for the health and racket club, as opposed to last year. So I'm unaware of the equipment at the new location. Last year we did the interview in the Royal Mail building complete with a test on the computers. So I imagine this year will be different. Has anyone had their interview yet? What was it like?

We endeavour to respond to every single Christmas application that we receive. However, if you have not heard from us by the 25th October 2013 then unfortunately we have been unable to find a role for you this year.

If your application is successful you will be contacted by email and advised to log on to your account to book your assessment. Please ensure that you regularly log onto your account to check the process of your application.

In my last post, I didn't bother to copy the 2nd paragraph, but nobody else did either. Previous casuals don't have to do the assessment & when they reapply for another year, get the message "Congratulations on passing your assessment..." with the "application received" status. The next step is the invitation to the registration event email. I've never had this email before.

Anybody heard when the Truro registration event is?

I have an interview on Wednesday, but don't know what documents to bring? I got a text and an email reminding me to book an interview, but for some reason didn't receive the original booking email that apparently had the attachments on what to bring.

Which sorting center are you guys going for? I'm going for Gateshead and I'm still on Application Received. I honestly don't know whats taking so long, this is incredibly frustrating.

I applied for the Cardiff Mail center.

The final date for them to get back to you with a place is 25th October.

ign

Sign into your Royal Mail application & click on "Your emails", if it did'nt make it to your email account it should at least be there.

What i think you need is:
Your printed summary , 2 passport photos, 2 forms of id(passport , Drivers license + counterpart), proof of NI & bank details.

But i'd just call their christmas helpline to make sure.
