Is there anybody here who believes that the business will be fit for the future if it doesn't change? if so, why?
It would appear that like your ex colleagues you fail to listen; we as individuals and collectively as a union are not against change. But change for change sake is no change at all. RM have no real plan for modernisation. They have looked at employment models and picked a few out because they are cheap not because they will make the business better or more productive. The business will not be fit for the future because the changes are not a well thought out strategy and not because the workforce are opposed to change.

Enlighten me then. What kind of change IS acceptable to the unions then?
I personally think that RM's plans for modernisation are not in any way taking into account the workforce.
Most managers are spinless c***s who have no bottle and it looks like your the same.
On the Union conference call yesterday it was abundtly clear the support was as strong if not stronger than before we will win this we just need to stick together. Unity is strength something that is lacking with spineless managers and scabbing slags.
All of us? Every single Manager is a spineless c***? Some are. Some aren't.
I thought this place was for everyone who worked in the RM, not just disgruntled non managers with an axe to grind. Where's the Proof that I am a spineless c***? You ahven't got any. There isn't any to find. I vocally stood up for professional excellence and common sense over being a spineless toady and agreeing brainlessly with the business - and they made my life absolute hell as a result. You may think all managers are spineless c***s - and some managers probably think all Blue Shirts are brain dead grunts. i don't. And that's because I don't have any prejudices I allow to pervert the facts.
The facts have got to match the reality or you're living a lie.

i dont often agree with a (ex) manager but i know theres (really) bad managers out there and theres some old skool type bosses who treat us with some respect most prob fall somewhere between the two prob most nearer the bad BUT i can also say the same about some of my fellow workers in my office
its dangerous to lump people who we dont (really) know with a minority/majority group within RM on this forum especially using abusive language even though some of the scab brigade make me want to rant on here
if you cant have a debate on here without resorting to swearing/abusive language then in my opinion you have lost the argument already manager/postie alike

Indeed. Knee-jerk insults are self defeating IMO

If these tossers would have stood and and been counted this dispute would have been over by now but instead they bully and harrass our members lie through their teeth and cross our picket lines. strike breakers are strike breakers whatever walk of life and they contniue to get paid and screw you whilst they do it.
I am happy to have a debate with anyone but i will not talk to strike breakers will you?

I agree with you mate. These people stand between us, and our wages and conditions. They are the agents of the two phoneys at the top who have mis-managed Royal Mail to the extent that every letter we handle from a cowboy operator is a cost to ourselves and to real Royal Mail customers.
We've had a 'manager' 'shadowing' some other 'manager' in our office for the last month. No one knows what purpose he serves other than cutting and tipping bags. He's just the latest in a long line of drones who produce nothing of any consequence. I've come to the conclusion that if the entire swarm of smarmy bastards in suits were struck dead tonight, the job would run far more smoothly and will much less friction than it does normally.
The Industrial Workers of the World. The union whose members never scab!
"The working class and the employing class have nothing in common."

if you only have one point of view you only see one thing ex rm is not and never has been what some people see as he enemy,he just had a good job that went to shi? and has paid the price of his beliefs
the enemy of my enemy comes to mind folks
or
the best way to beat your enemy is to get into his mind and know how he thinks
and this site is suposed to be for all rm or ex rm staff to air their views if not, we are no better than those toss pots on the other sites, postman allows us a lot of slack on this site lets use it properly
