I once did a check for a manager who was concerned about the number of items received at the DO "damaged" - the ratio of torn/damaged/open card type envelopes vastly exceeded ordinary envelopes - I don't remember the exact figure but it was about 7 to 1.

Re: thieving scumbags working for rm
We had a letter turn up recently with the wrong name/address co couldn't be delivered and couldn't be RTS as there was no return address.
It was £50 notes in the envelope as you could see through quite clearly, in the end we had to send it to RLB via Special Delivery just to be safe.
Was amazed it made the Office really as there was easily £200 in it, not everyone steals though clearly.

A) What idiot sends cash through the post in the first place?Dazsw wrote:We had a letter turn up recently with the wrong name/address co couldn't be delivered and couldn't be RTS as there was no return address.

B) If they insist on doing this, at least put a return address on it, so it can be returned (as it will be 'us thieving posties' fault, not theirs....)
C) Send it Special Delivery
Why are people so stupid?

The sequencing machines can make it look like a card has been slit along the end,I think it's the speed that the envelope hits the belt followed a millisecond later by the card inside actually rips the envelope very cleanly they had to adjust the one in our office as it was doing it with everything including bank statements.NewPostieUK wrote:How on earth do you know that?new postie wrote: it was a delivery office in BARROW the scum manager should be shot
How do you even know it was a postie? Is it not usually the mail centre?
When I asked about all the cards that are slit open at Christmas, I was told it was happening in the mail centre and they are looking into it.
Happens every year.
You also find a lot of cards with the v type flap get opened in the sequencing by the letter following it sliding under the flap at great speed,You really notice it at xmas since most people buy cheap cards and i suppose are low on spit by about the 12th one.

I come across torn birthday card envelopes from time to time, I pop them straight into a damaged bag because I'd feel embarrassed to deliver an item that someone else from RM has blatently opened to look for money.
