no one should be opting out of these, we may not agree with privatisation and will be fighting against it, but opting out of these will achieve absolutely nothing except losing money for the member who does opt out,

the union need to careful not to pin this ballot on privatisation because most at my office feel this is something that is out of our hands and that we will struggle to stop.Also the usual suspects will be drawn in at the thought of a few extra quid and free shares.They need to highlight that this is also about our pay and future conditions and pensions or i can see the ballot being a bit of a flop.

Their tunnel vision seems to be focussed on the bribe (sorry, shares). If they took the blinkers off they might notice the inevitable erosion of terms and conditions that will happen.

Yes, of course we will be worse off after privatisation, but a 'yes' vote will NOT stop privatisation.

I agree with you its about the terms and conditions and the pension fiasco now I think we could get a better deal. I've told Dave Ward that the National CWU have to buck their ideas up and actually have something that is achieveable for us to aim for. A lot of members feel that Dave and Billy are out of touch from their HQ on CWU Towers

privatisation is a separate issue, we are not being balloted on privatisation.
We NEED to make this point understood, the ballot is NOT about privatisation.

It seems Billy & Dave have distanced themselves from privatisation associated with the ballot for I/A, they are now saying the Union is fundamentaly opposed to privatisation and would not tell members to opt - out in getting free shares either.
