Did you apply for a MDEC position or a mail sorter position ?

I submitted my Xmas casual application on the 3rd, and everything seemed to go fine - I can only assume I just need to wait for an arrangement.

I checked the site again and seen they were also advertising for general casual positions at a closer mail centre - so I figured that I may as well apply for this and see what's going. I don't know if I was half asleep, not paying attention, or the clock mysteriously jumped, but I ran out of time on one of the postcode checking assessments - I'm so embarrassed

Okay guys I thought i would update you all since i have a bit more info now.

I completed a online application for mdec on the 5th, I took the online tests for it on the 5th, I recieved a text to book a interview on the 6th had my interview on the 11th, Now just awaiting security checks.

Im in plymouth, On the 11th they had already had 1000 applications for 650 spots so they told me and the best shift C was filled up by the time we were all done with our interview. Still other shifts were left though

A few things, make sure you do the online test, its just a way to filter out who is actually interest or who isnt, they arent actually bothered about how well you do.
Make sure you have all your info for the interviews, that includes your mothers full name at her birth, First middle and last name, they wont do your application without it. And make sure you bring your bank details.

You do not have to do a typing test this year when you go to the interview. Make sure on your applcation you give your work history etc up too the day you are applying, it wont let you tick and apply unless you do so. I had mine set to the day before and wouldnt let me apply.

So good luck all. will see those of you in plymouth on november the 23 when we start

Hello, I have a quick question. I've booked my appointment on the 26th of September at 14:30, forgetting I was at the dentist that afternoon. I'd have much preferred the 10.30 slot, but it seems to be a confirmed time now. Is there a way to change my appointment or is it bad etiquette if I email and ask to switch times?

With Royal Mail it probably won't matter.

However, as a potential employee for any company it won't look very organised. Your call as they say, is it easy to change the dental appointment.

Me & my friends are still on 'application received' and we are previous xmas casuals. I think it depends on the job role and the location on how fast they get back to you.

I'm still on "application received" for xmas casual, put the application in on the evening of 2nd Sep so the first day they were taking applications. I'm a previous xmas casual and in previous years there were problems with some emails not making it to my email account inbox so I've been loging in to my RM account and checking every day.

Im still on application recieved as well and I've been in before. Iv got a mate who hasnt been in before and he heard back yesterday and has an interview booked for Monday coming.

Im not that bothered as I got another job last week so probably wouldn't have taken it anyway. Still a bit strange and I would have been fuming if I was still on the brew.

Thanks for that, I have an Interview at Plymouth MDEC this coming Monday, what was the interview process like? In previous years I have done it, it wasn't so much as an interview, more a short talk by the Angard employee telling everyone what the job involved and then all the applicants filling in their paperwork and then we were free to go, I was in and out in about 25 minutes last year. Is this pretty much still the case? Man, i hate interviews.
