Royal Mail strike action set for delay (!!!)
Chris Ship - Deputy Political Editor -ITV
' The ballot papers to Royal Mail workers will no longer happen next Friday as planned.
I understand there is a delay in the membership list.
The Communication Workers Union - which met in Birmingham at lunchtime - is likely to send out the ballot papers in the following week.
The union has to give 7 days notice of its plans to ballot members - and 7 days notice to Royal Mail of its plans to strike (should the workers vote for one).
It means the earliest date for strike action will no longer be October 10.
But the CWU dispute with Royal Mail will still hang over the company as the government tries to find investors for the privatisation.

A delay and they have not sent in legal challenges yet . Said this would happen but to admit this yourself is unbelievable. Maybe it's a union tactic!

The membership lists have to be exactly right or the business will call foul and drag us through the courts.
All branches have recently been tasked with ensuring the lists are all correct, there's probably some delays in returning the amended lists due to annual leave etc.
It has to be right this time more than ever.

Sad but.... Tuesday the 15th won't much of a difference compared to Thursday the 10th.

Well
I was there today.
Dave ward said not to worry if things slip a couple of days, he said membership lists are spot on, but there a couple of things they are working on with their lawyers after correspondence from rm.
Why is this thread even here, the title is misleading and as usual the CWU are being slated
Amazing

Q2.Have they got a plan B?
Q3.When you say not to worry, should I be worried that Fat Dave said to be not worried?
Q4.Did you attend the backslapping party afterwards.
Q5.Set squared sandwiches or Whist pies?
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!

Re: Royal Mail strike action set for delay (!!!)
From the CWU's point of view it might work out better as it probably means any strikes will be November at the earliest, last year November seemed way busier then December
