contracts

Post by SJH101 »

I have recently been given full time hours. I have been doing my new hours for about 1 month now and the contract has only just comein the post (which i have NOT signed) I am unhappy in my full time hours for a few reasons which I explained to the main boss in my area along with my union rep and DOM. They said the only way I can go back is if I drop to 28 hours and not my original 30.

The thing is had I not taken the the full time offer initially, I would still be on my old 30 hours but because I took the full time and want to go back they say it has to be 28. Can they do this?

Also if I still haven't signed the contract, do I have a legal right to go back to what I was doing?

Is it worth writing and explaining the situation to HR?

Thanks

Its not temporary, its permanent. I've been there 5 years.

I'm sure they can't do that. I might ring HR see what they have to say.

You have not signed the contract so you are in a cooling period... However, if most of the jobs have been subsequently allocated in your office, how can they accommodate you? You can insist (with HR) but what if they say that you can only get your wish in another office???
