I applied for xmas work yesterday, whole process was very smooth... only thing is they would only let me apply for ONE delivery office, when at least 6 of the vacancies are within 30 mins driving distance from my home address. Just wondered if there is a way to apply to more than one xmas casual role with RM?

What happened last year?
All Angard casuals were told not to apply for Christmas casual work because "We would get plenty of hours over the Christmas period"

We then got laid off at Christmas when all of the new casuals started.

I didn't get a test to do either, nor did i get last year. So i'm guessing its area specific maybe?

I think the tests may be for those applying for the MDEC vacancies.

Having looked back at last years emails the invites to interviews were emailed on the 21st of Sept. so it may be around the same time this year

Others have their tests already, does this mean I am unsuccessful?
What does your email say?

I received two emails.

The first was regarding my initial registration, this was your generic registration email that you get whenever you sign up to a companies' recruitment website. After this I then went through the application form and clicked send. I then received a second email called 'application confirmation' - almost instantly - which basically said that I was successful and I have reached the next stage of my application, and at this point they asked me to complete online tests within 24 hours.

I'm not sure if you get the online tests straight away on every application, but from what I can gather you generally receive the tests straight away.

What does your application status say (this is below your last application line)?

same thing happened to my application.

since I am using the same application account as for previous years, and I worked at christmas twice before, once directly (2009) and once through angard (phew, 2011),
when I logged in I had a "offer of employment" there for the same mail centre whene I worked in 2011 -- whcih unfortunately doesn't suit me at all, because I moved to another part of the country since.

so instead I applied for a position here next to my house.

application status says "application received" . I did NOT get a usual test invitation I'd gotten in previous years.

however on my application status page it says:

"congratulations on passing your assessment".

except I did not even take any assessment. could it be that the system remembers me passing them in previous years?

I took the test and my status says "Test Finished". Under it, it congratulates me on passing my assessment. This has been this way for a week. Does anyone know when I can expect an update?

I didn't get any online test. I have read somewhere on the site but at the end I didnt take any tests. my status is application received now. do you know if I had to take the test but because of some problems I could't.

I'm in exactly the same position, I'm fixin' to work at Stoke MDEC. It's impossible to tell, I'd like to have got my invite for assessment by now (last year it only took them one day after I'd applied) but I'm shedding no tears. Just keep going back, maybe they will do it in a week or something. Like I say I'm test finished too and I think it's not going that badly.

Just put my application in. Was my first time last year, but found prev Xmas casual workers started a few weeks earlier than us newbies....

Does this mean that if i get the sorting office i've applied for, that (as now a prev xmas casual), i may get a week or so extra ie starting earlier than the newbies?

Not sure but I noticed a few people like that last year as well. This being my second year I actually hope its true as I'm desperate for work at present.

When I applied it asks you where you heard about the vacancy. I put 'job centre' instead of 'previous christmas casual' as the woman at the brew told me that if I did that it would get fast tracked. Although surely they would know I was in last year as its the same online account I used.

Mine is at "INVITED FOR INTERVIEW" now, so I'm super thrilled with that. So it looks like progress is being made.
