Scum at the top
As you may have noticed there are some posts that are quite clearly not from postmen or women ...simply they register one day post and thats the last you hear from them as they go off line . Being the cynic I am progaganda from these individuals are probably origionating from have a go managers, who at the next DOM meeting smile and chuckle with each other .....best not to rise to the bait , as by doing so it creates descent ...ignore it or if you cant stuff their personnel e-mail with whatever you can find ...keep the faith ..unity IS strength ,we will be challenged, its part of the game .

Negative posts
Me thinks that there are a LOT of negative posts suddenly appearing in these forums......
Could some of these comments be by the Management in an attempt to curb our SKY HIGH GUT FEELING THAT WE ARE WINNING ???
Could they be posing as complaining customers ? ( posting these comments here & in newspaper websites )
Well they WONT WIN
RM are worried about the OVERWHELMING SUPPORT from both US & THE GENERAL PUBLIC
Expect more dirty tricks in tomorrows papers...
KEEP STRONG -

I don't think you will win. It's a shame, but if you think you are winning you're deluding yourselves. I'm in no way a management stooge (look elsewhere for proof of that - I've been forced out of the business because I dare speak my mind), but I think this strike is realistically unwinnable. At the moment the consequences of this strike are that it prevents the business operating, costs the business a lot of money, produces customer resentment for large numbers of people (not necessarily all), causes business customers to use rivals, and reduces the businesses overall T/O and thus cuts the size of the 'pot' for salaries to be paid out of. I'm not saying there isn't good reason to strike, but that the strike will not have the desired effect and I think AL and AC won't bend on this.

You know what Ex RM, i think managers take a lot of abuse on here which i find quite distasteful, even though I've done it myself. Personally i can't stand this them and us attitude. We are all anonymous on here and most are spouting abuse because they are genuinely unhappy with the current situation. One reason Postmen don't like Management is because there has been some ludicrously bad decisions made in the past by Management and it seems that the workforce has to always carry the can. Postmen make mistakes, as everybody knows, but big people make big mistakes. Postmen would like to have a share of the action. Also i think, to be a thoroughly modern business, the workforce should have some input into who is running the business. By that i mean a vote every so often. Just like a political election. THEN! if bad decisions are made, the blame is shared between all of us. If good ones are made we all benefit.

EX RM
good to see you back on line,to be honest when you say win this strike it depends on your definition of win, every little battle has a winner and a looser and we have won some already,we know things are going to change and it is accepted that things do need to change it is the manner in which things are done that really count, the silly thing is that in the past rm has bought certain rights off us for lump sums,we got a bit in the pocket they got what they wanted, instead we are now all loosing,a grand for all your early start money 2 grand for d2d rights its been done before and could have been done now for far less than the strikes have cost rm and us in the long run
i do like to read when i have time i cant remember who said it but the most important thing when negotiating with your enemy is never leave them with nothing to loose and always leave them a way out with face, there is nothing more dangerous than a desperate man trapped in a corner, guess where we feel we are now

This is a bit more like it. I'm fed up being labelled a ton of names because people are frustrated with upper management. I was very frustrated with the way upper management did a lot of things - steamrollering over the wishes of people with a singular vision operating in isolation of the people it needs. I note that Ninian Wilson recently said that a businesses biggest asset was it's people and their loyalty (yet he made 60% of his function surplus in favour of outsider Yes-Men : some loyalty!). Now NW's rampaging on with his career to become King and will be Ops Director as of end of October. This is VERY bad news.buzzer wrote:You know what Ex RM, i think managers take a lot of abuse on here which i find quite distasteful, even though I've done it myself. The problem for me was I told upper management I had concerns over some of their decisions - and they turned the screws on me until I had choice but to leave. They only want Yes-Men and not people who take pride in their work and have a professional expertise if it disagrees with them. Some great talent has left the business at all levels as a result.
