My start date is tomorrow and I received a payslip saying I'd be paid on 30th August! Not much, but something! :-)

Re: ParcelForce Chorley Vacancies
I got my start date this week for 9th September and received my contract through the post today.
Is everyone working 8pm till 4 am?
Does anyone know what the job actually involves? At the interview I was told we would be rotated between all areas such as manual labour, IT, admin etc.

Re: ParcelForce Chorley Vacancies
Yeah processing operative. And I don't see the logic in that either. The person who interviewed me had just joined the company so don't think he knew all the details.
I was told 8 till 4 would be the main shift but there would possibly be a skeleton crew shift (clean up, I believe he said) which would be 4 am to 12 pm. That's not for me though

I start on the 9th on the 8 till 4 shift..anyone starting on the 9th from Preston? I was planning to commute by car but no insurance till the 1st October, would appreciate a lift and cud share cost of fuel? Saves me having to get public transport on the way there and then getting picked up 4 in morning because there is no public transport at that time..

Haha yeah I got that email too. Guess I'm bringing sandwiches or going out and getting something depending on how long the break is and if anything is open at that time!

Re: ParcelForce Chorley Vacancies
they had no canteen facilities at christmas when i worked for them and they literally did mean a microwave fridge and kettle were available, so depended how many people are queuing to use it in the 1/2 hr we had for a meal break! butties the quickest option i think!shapeshift wrote:Just got this Email:
We would like to inform you that there are currently no canteen facilities at the Chorley depot. Please be aware of this and make suitable arrangements for your breaks and meal times. Microwave, refrigerator and kettle facilities will be available.
We apologise for any inconvenience – we are anticipating it to be a short term issue.
