Journalists are in the main lazy and uninterested in our strike - they get fed the editorial line and just go with the flow.

The editors get told what to do by the owners of the paper or by not upsetting the government as they might not get the usual almost obligatory Knighthood when they retire.

Yea, that's the reward for a lifetime of carrying out the commands of your political masters and so much for the Freedom of the Press - the one thing that frightens them is a change of government because they might not get their retiral gong if a new party is elected.

So the editors desperately don't want to upset Gordon's re-election chances by giving ANY coverage let alone balanced coverage to our strike.

Easier to just say it's too complex to fully explain and try and make it just a wages issue. But that seems to be failing as words like 'modernisation' and 'pension' have started to creep into the reporting.

And there's no point in attacking the CWO for the biased coverage or lack of it - I'm sure they are doing their best but they can't demand that their press releases get used.

What we can do to help the union is to stand strong and expose the AL lie that the strike is crumbling. He learned from the last rolling campaign that trying to kid-on that things were going well from a company point of view just led to people and companies posting normally and not holding mail back and we all know what kind of shambles that created for him.

So, this time round he's had to admit that the 4-day strike will have a serious effect and people shouldn't post but then he's got to do his usual sand-dancing to appease his political masters and big mailers and say that the strike is crumbling.

Well - I suppose that's why he's paid the big bucks, big bonuses and no doubt big pension - to take the pressure from his one day a week job.

I agree with doing our bit by telling the public - which I have been - but a bit more in the press/TV wouldn't go a miss!!
Been sending loads of emails to harass the papers/TV too - unfortunately, I just get the automated reply, so far.

Yes i agree, but surely our union guys can take out full page adverts and tell the public the truth about whats going on ? is it me or is it not just common sense to do this then you might even get a scab to read it
