His assertion that blind eyes are turned to managerial transgressions is highly inaccurate. In my area managers are being suspended left, right and centre. Every manager I know is constantly watching his back, not trusting his or her DSM and those above them.

Where's your area? The land of make believe

"RM's managerial 'style' promotes behaviour that would shame most modern organisations and they do not seem to understand just how divisive and counter productive it is. The problem is that it stems from the top and for more than a sticking plaster remedy there needs to be a drains up restructuring which won't happen as turkeys don't often vote for Christmas."

So you agree with, him.

Sorry to be blunt but it appears you are out of touch with the claim that more managers are bullied than staff. Howver, out of touch or not bullying by ANY manager of anyone, including other managers, is wrong and should be tackled.

It won't be though when one of the top managers in the firm thinks an aggressive style is acceptable, and who continually talks down the Union and therefore by association the members. Get rid of him, and his acolytes and perhaps progress could be made.

The reason they are looking over their shoulders is because they ALL know that Karma is waiting for them, just around the next corner!

Until 'the powers that be' realise that a happy, valued, employee who isn't bullied by those abusing their positions/power, and is treated with Dignity & Respect......will LOGICALLY, be more productive, not go off with work related stress, thus making the company more Productive/Profitable....

Which should be motivation enough, as they would get EVEN bigger Bonuses.... :hmmmm

It's not Rocket Science, is it? :cuppa

Anyone that quotes the results of an employee opinion survey and treats them as representative needs to slap themselves. I fully agree with you TBT.
I have many friends and contacts in outside industry and they are aghast at the dictatorial, command and control way of working that exists within Royal Mail.

Don't assume that all managers subscribe or collude with the way of working that our 'leader' advocates.

It isn't a snapshot survey,It's a full involvement survey,It would only be unrepresentative if you believed that those who filled it in were lying.
Is that what you are saying?
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
