Union bosses have said they will call for a boycott of any business that plays host to a Post Office facing closure in Melksham.

Staff at the town’s Crown Post Office are uncertain over their future as their branch faces closure.

And at a heated public meeting in the Wiltshire town this week, the public were told that businesses – understood to be supermarkets – had expressed an interest in taking it on.

But the Communication Workers Union told scores of residents that none of its staff would move to a shop-run office.
