Hi all.
I went to see the oncologist today and have been told that I do have quite a few cancer spots in both hips and a few in my chest.
They are still doing tests to see if I have a mutation that they can target.
I am having radiotherapy in Cheltenham soon and will be starting my chemotherapy in around 2 weeks.
He expects me to live for around 1 - 2 years if I am lucky due to my relatively young age (51) and fitness level.
We feel remarkably calm under the circumstances and are going to try and fit what we can in to our lives and live a few dreams.
Of course my family and myself are gutted but we can not live life being miserable.
We believe that life is for living so we are making the most of what we have got left.
At least we have got some time together.

What a wonderful attitude to have ,you brought a tear to my eye i lost my wife at 39 to leukemia 5 yrs ago i know how your feeling and how hard it is for your family, try to keep smiling and def make the most of what you have left

Hi.
I am just giving an update.
I have just received a letter telling me I am going down to half pay on December 12th.
Will I lose a lot of money or will I be able to claim SSP. to top up my pay.
I am certified disabled now and claiming P.I.P and Motability allowance, I get this automatically because I have terminal cancer.
The Doctor has told me that I probably wont work again but to stay employed as I will get better benefits.

I am taking a cancer fighting drug called TARCEVA and am feeling much better at the moment although I get very tired very easily and have a nasty rash and mouth ulcers, this is all a side effect from the drugs.
If you have any thoughts of what is best for me and my Family then please let me know.
