If only all FT staff actually double prep up to the level required or if they actually spend all the specified time (whatever that is) on IPS???

I know it has to do with management but some FT folks get away with it. Many I know and have seen sneak off to prep their own walks. And on quieter days, the are ready to go even before some Pters arrive. 30/32 hours PT prep their own walk and d2ds, by the time some arrive on tuesday, the FT staff are bagging up...

You are right. But do you really care , or need to care?

I am PT and can walk in at my 8am start time and see people bagging up. And leaving by 08:15.

Do I care? No.. not a bit. Am I annoyed? . Yes , quite a bit because these people (and some are PT on the same hours as me) have started early; worked for the square root of eff all, and cost jobs.

In this job i will accept many things and just let it 'wash'. What really f***s me off is the people (FT or PT) that screw this job and therefore screw all of their fellow workers. And the saddest thing ? They don't fu***ng care as their selfish attitude comes to the fore.

I only care for the 24-27 hours part-timers; many of whom I have had to train and mentor... It is demoralising for them that people that are tasked with prepping for them leave the job incomplete (at least not satisfactorily). Some have found it too much to harp on and/or confront managers within a few weeks of starting the job... They just simply come early and earlier - and that in turns allow the double prepper to take off earlier.

The turnover rate was somewhat high for part-timers prior to P&L and massive recession. P&L has helped in most offices because it is now a FT/PT combo - so FT/FT cannot just take off (even if they did not appropriately).

The problem with double preppers is that they take their cue from IPS folks - as soon as they leave, they also leave their double prepping. With managers not actually intensively monitoring how much work has been done within the time given, you can see why the part-timers might be left with loads of work when they should simply do packets, missorts, redirection and bag up.

Managers need to manage better and folks need to be less selfish - it is not a bloody race!

Yeah there are guys with 9 years service in our place who are now reserves! Guys in door a few month have there own duties ,,it seems the full timers have been shafted in our revision,, . I had to wait years to get my own duty .

yea i get a feeling management is trying to p**s people off in the hope that they will leave get rid off ft and employ pt thats all they keep doing at our place. they are so uncaring its untrue i actually quite like the job but management are a farce maybe just maybe privatisation might mean we get rid of useless managers who could not run a p**s up, i know we are all concerned about our future but the way they treat people is disgusting i asked if we could start at 6 in the summer instead of 7 they just said no end of story yet everyone i speak to wants to start earlier, all the mail is in the office so i asked why we can not come in and sort earlier dom says you can come in unpaid if you want! just about sums them up xtra lapsing and no ot for 3 months! not good!
