At least the local football will be of a higher calibre..........
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Good afternoon Comrades we finally arrived on tuesday30th after a long drive from Zeebrugge to Venice then ferry to Greece and upto Bulgaria no driving problems to speak of tho had a couple of mental breakdowns at 2 roundabouts (which way to go ) lol.Only problem was with BOB the sat nav he decided to send us to the Greek - Turkish border at which we were refused entry no green card even my copy of the courier did not help lol but only 20 miles to Bulgaria border at which we had no problems :nana I am proud to have worked with some great people tho the last 4 or 5 years have been rough due to changes for the worse in the job and after 2 nervous breakdowns we felt it time to resign from the job ( tho we call it retirement). I could go on and say the present managers in my old office and probably yours are a set of wonders no idea at all.So once again I WISH YOU ALL the very best for the future, and will keep up to date on here, good luck with the strike tho in 43 years I NEVER won one lol

Let's hope he's done his research well, and not moved there purely on the basis on seeing it for two weeks from a tourist's perspective.
Moving to a dirt-poor country naused up from fifty years of Soviet Bloc occupation and from which anyone of any ambition leaves, when he's past retirement age and medical needs etc are potentially greater, sounds like a recipe for heartache.
Let's hope he doesn't become that sad story the local papers love, the "Ex-pat returns from XXXXXXX and demands council flat and long-term medical care needs are met" as so many seem to do...

Update
Yes we are still living in Bulgaria and have really settled in.The people are so very nice and have made us so welcome,i must admit the language is still a small problem tho we get by.Do i miss Royal Mail the short answer is No BUT I still keep an eye out on sites like this one to see if it has improved but it looks like its still the same old crap going on.The medical services here are in some cases better than the UK you go to doctors pay a small fee any problems off to clinic NO WAITING LISTS .Internet just as good and best of all NO Stress.
LOVING IT
take care you lot you can take the Boy From Royal Mail but you cant take Royal Mail From The Boy lol :wave

All the best in Bulgaria, your pension should go along way there :).
I'll be lucky to emigrate to Lithuania on my pension if I live that long doing this job.
