Re: Lost Special?
Latest is that this has gone...."Out of Office". So they're expecting s**t to come raining down from on high.
Will keep you updated. Agree that this guy is going to be very lucky to keep his job. BUT in this company you never know.....perhaps he's related to the manager or something!

Re: Lost Special?
Think it'll be a sacking.
But then, it's the posties own fault, they have given a manager the rope with which they will likely be hanged.
As an aside, there is a manager I know who did this whilst still a postie, whose only 'punishment' was promotion to managing.

Too late now mate, you should have done it years ago, there's 50 % less mail to burn now so apart from melting the plastic on your RM 2000's, you'd do little damage!

Re: Lost Special?
If you can get through to this postie tell him to go to the Police station and report a theft. Unless he has been explicitly told not to do that he is within his rights to do so. The Police will be obliged to investigate and will go round and interview the occupier/suspect. He might not admit it straight away but he may fold under pressure and call the Police station later and tell them he has found the envelope in his hallway/a friend put it in a safe place for him etc etc.
This would at the least mean the Postie couldn't be sacked for theft - that is the only conclusion at the moment if he took it from the cage but the occupier says he didn't get it.

Funny you can get sacked for losing a special but nick £120,000 and it's a small mistake and you will get your free shares!.Tank wrote:A postie did it at ours, same special, with 500 euros in. She got sacked.

Re: Lost Special?
Agree with you Jimmy...we now know that Management are gunning for anyone that steps out of line. I was recently nearly Conduct Coded for delivering a Special late....never mind losing it!
Believe there may be some developments next week will keep you posted. From what I hear it doesn't sound as if this guy "Deserves" the support of the Union, or his colleagues, as he basically doesn't give a f**k and pleases himself. Undermining his fellow workers at the same time by coming in early, cutting corners, and not supporting Union Decisions (i.e The "S" word).

Re: Lost Special?
I've accidently posted about 4 specials in my short time with RM, Never been called up once about it!?
I guess if the customer is honest enough, not trying to get something for nothing, and not a compulsive complainer its not a problem? Either that or Im exceptionally lucky or managment at my place are beyond useless?

Re: Lost Special?
I hear it EVERYDAY, that woman's ok with me signing for her stuff!
That woman may very well be, but the SENDER who has paid to have a signature from someone at the address on the item might not be so happy with wee billy from RM's scribble all over it.
Customers will be fine with you doing favours for them (some for years) however, the min it goes pete tong they will no longer be nice mrs jones at number 22.
The call to 0845 has already logged the complaint against the postie AND the office. (the customer dont see this is a problem).
Deliver to a neighbour creates just as many problems, P739 everytime, would rather the customer has to wait 24 hours and GETS the item, than it going walkabout at dodgy neighbours, remember, its at the posties discretion EVERY time!!

It's just them bloody letters that don't have a the blue label, or the ones that dont have any label at all! and you have to write the number in yourself that always get me, and usually get put through

Re: Lost Special?
The thing is, unless the postie has admitted to signing it, if the police found the money or envelope in the guys house then it could be claimed that the guy DID sign for it himself and was lying all along. How do they know who's signature it is? Its always a scribble.Jimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:You dont get sacked for losing the special, you get sacked for delivering it without a sig, or signing it yourself, either way you did wrong, and now its gone upstairs its too late imvho. RM will class as forgery if he put the recipients sig, or some othe random reasoning.meercat wrote:If you can get through to this postie tell him to go to the Police station and report a theft. A few years ago id have had sympathy for the guy, but its been a few years now bedding in with the new strict regime and we all know what we can and cant do
Eitherway the postie is a fool.
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

On part time hours another one bites the dust and another one I can just Imagine MOYA dancing to it in her ivory tower.bunkerland wrote:Brilliant money making operation........you notice your postie delivers special deliveries without getting a signature. Order 500 euros and double your holiday money.![]()
I'd be surprised if many managers could keep that one within their own hands,i'd be expecting a few uncomfortable interviews if i was him.Don't like to see anyone lose their job but ffs,i wouldn't sleep at night if i was delivering mail like that. If he does get the bullet, hopefully his job will be filled by someone with a better attitude and whose willing to do the job properly.
