For those grumbling about not accepting the last pay offer..... WAKE UP YOU DUMB FECKS FOR CHRISTS SAKE! :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

Sure the offer was ok, pretty good for the current climate but that's just taking it at face value!

The strings attached to it made it a worthless offer. Get your heads out of your @sses please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

8.6% is a hell of a pay rise over 3yrs, many workers including public sector are taking pay cuts and will continue to do so. The public won't support this argument despite strings.

Privatisation- In my opinion ( for what its worth) if you strike the government won't float RM, it will be sold to a venture capital concern, possibly a company from the USA and these people play hardball with workers rights and you can expect a change of terms and conditions a lot sooner. Floating on the stock market might not be everyone's cup of tea but at least you have a guarantee of three years and the free shares. The shares will be worth something despite scaremongering and comparison to the valueless ones we had.

The offer under a Tory Government that destroyed the coal and steel industry is a good one.
what a pile of garbage. are they brainwashing you's on the pay and privatisation issues as well? obviously they are. are you crammy postie in disguise?

Good grief, I've had to edit this post so many times as it just descended into a foaming at the mouth rant.

Good to know that management are the same the country over.
Couldn't get putting letters in letterboxes right, became company shills as repeating RM propaganda requires little enough thought as to not give them headaches.

good job the first thing they like do do is bring in there own managers and that means they will get rid of the muppets we have now . plus the pay deal offered was crap and the public will be right behind us. I've been telling all who have asked on my round the real truth and they have all said strike.

It's about time.
For any 'managers', local or national, reading this, it isn't about the money. You could have offered 15% over three years, but as long as there were strings attached, and the pension, and privatisation looming large, I would still want the union to reject it.
A very short term gain now is irrelevant when compared to the longer term decimation of my pay/pension/T&C's, working conditions etc.

And also to those managers, and the redman in particular, you are about to be balloted yourselves, if you have swallowed the crap from RM and are unwilling (or too stupid not) to defend your own pensions and jobs, then do us a favour, and stop coming on here telling us that we should follow your example, as you're hardly setting a good one, or an accurate one in regards of what we would end up with post privatisation.

The company has a bad track record, especially recently, with what it tells it employees and what the reality of the situation is.

You obviously don't listen to your own union. Unite are against privatization. Management will be the first to go. Not a bad thing because you can't see further than the end of your nose, albeit a long one.

I was made substantive some time ago and wish I'd never done it. My heart lies with the OPGs and I still pay into the CWU out of principle. Wish I could drop back! :arrrghhh

Who gives a fig about a pay rise?

When will the likes of Ward and Hayes realise that money isn't everything?

Warbling on about the pay rise is only playing into RM's hands regarding the media and general public. :arrrghhh
the cwu have to have a issue other than privatisation to legaly hold a ballot privatisation in itsself isnt a strong legal argument for a national dispute in the eyes of our legal system

I am voting YES to a strike, this can only strengthen our position and will be prepared to walk out if it comes to it.

We have little reason to trust RM after how many of us have been conned out of our Colleague shares money, how many of us remember the bullying and harassment pre and post revision, how many had to wait for the revision bonus and some that never arrived in the pay packet at all, how many of us remember the double crossing from Linos over our overtime and "it will only take you 20 minutes" long serving members getting sacked for what used to be a 2 year warning, we will get messed around until the day RM is sold then the agreement will be ripped up.

This is payback time.
