 We did 22 strike days last christmas 2006 in our office we stood all by ourselves and went on strike, about all these issues what we are facin ,we ended up agreein to a 5.30am start we are staying with that in our office because royal mail signed the agreement. We got a good deal out of our strike due to the hard work of steve warren and gary hogdekinson and our great union rep col richardson. The management tried all sorts of tricks to take use down be we stood together as a unit and got the best deal for us.[/b]

I've been told that the continuing talks at TUC have made some progress on pay and pensions. Although progress is very slow. Will keep you updated on any developments.

Get rid of that flexibility, sort out the pension, chuck out the rest of the crap, and settle down for 12 months to plan automation and how it will work for the best of us. Then, and only then will I go back; oh, and on Wednesday when I have to ...lol

From what I heard we would be back onto rolling functional strikes from the 15th.

So do Royal Mail, but they want you to give up and do the d2d for nothing, or if you are in a mail centre cover for s/l a/l for nothing.
Then of course they want to reduce your pension, and have you coming in at all different times of the day. Remember the long term aim of Royal Mail is to reduce you pay by 25% and increase your workload by 40%. As a postman the d2d free delivery and covering your colleagues for nothing will get them part of the way there.
And don't think this is where it will stop if the union lose. This is just stage one for Royal mail, if we lose they will be back next year for much more!
