I want a transfer, thats how Royal Mail should work a bit of give and take, the rules designed to guide not to be enforced. The strange thing is RM can't see that rigidly enforcing the rules, and sticking to every comma and full stop when it suits them, only encourages the Union to do exactly the same. Managing by numbers ignores the Human element and at some point the Human element will rebel.

They are still there - they are part of the Telecoms Department of the Union. In fact they had a dispute in 2010 which was eventually sorted without a strike.

Royal Mail is going into new era .... privatisation... it will be a new goal and post ... forget about the past .. new "owner" will not tolerate present behaviour of any side ... There will be no room for bullying from management and come to think of it ( in many cases) ... from CWU local reps.

There will be no need.
They will hold all the cards,We will hold none.
If you don't like it,there is the door will be a phrase you will need to get used to.

Your little "Stepford Wives" Delivery Office,If it really does exist will be destroyed because your friendly managers won't be so friendly when all the power is in their hands and all the pressure to save money is coming down on top of their heads.

I've seen good managers turn into arseholes and good offices turn into shitholes all because of an increase in pressure or a subtle change in employer/employee dynamics and what is around the corner as far from subtle.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Yeah. That's a stark reality. I'm glad I'm out of it.

human1 wrote:Think about few years into future ... after full privatisation .. CWU will have no or any place in the business. These local union rep. will not have present "powers" they enjoy now.... and with out these union reps. one way to solve local office problems would be to get together with management and talk. ( Can you rember when GPO was broken and BT came in .... what happend to their local union reps.? )
I give in but I can guarantee that on privatisation your cosy little arrangement won't last the course, softy managers will either get tough or get gone and a small office will soon become part of a super DO.
