We got about 200 applicants in 48 hrs for half a dozen vacancies a couple of months back.
Part-time,short term contracts.

Some people in this country are pretty negative and like a whinge. Those in RM are no different, and to be fair the job for some used to be a lot easier until things changed.

While it seems perfectly reasonable to be paid for the hours you actually work, if that is a new concept after years of job and knock you would feel aggrieved with those changes. In addition to that some people just don't like change and can't appreciate that the way RM used to function was not sustainable going forward.

They need to change their mindset and now the job is more in line with a proper job, treat it like that in the way they perform their duty ( coming in at right time, don't fly around like a loony, take breaks, finish at correct time etc). Its a pretty good job, and for unskilled labour to be paid £10 an hour for actually working the hours you work is still pretty good and those that say different are out of touch with the real world.

I'm not trying to get under peoples skin, I'm just curious more than anything. There are people In jobs doing longer more unsocialbe hours for less money.

Before I joined I saw the people striking as greedy as they didn't know how good they have it, and to be quite frank, I still do. I'm quite grateful for this job.

So you won't back your mates up. You are no ex-serviceman I recognise they, even if they think their mates are the most idiotic, xenophobic grunt on the planet and in the wrong, will still stand shoulder to shoulder with them when needed. How do I know 16 years and 3 tours.

Also as an ex-serviceman you would realise that complaining is part of the package, they do say that the time to start being concerned is when the foot soldiers stop complaining.

I won't point out the irony or someone complaining about people complaining, instead I'll suggest you lighten up and let people get their frustrations out on here.

The job varies from office to office and depends on where you are on this modernisation rollercoaster,you've only been here 7 months which isn't much at all so I would give it a while before you make any real judgements as to whether the moaning is justified or not.

Yea that's fair enough, I've worked for the company for 11 months now and easily the best and easiest job I've had.

11 months, f***ing hell mate you're not even out of basic yet and your telling people how to think and act. If you really have been in the mob and acted like this in real life you would have had some very active counselling from someone.

I thought this was an easy job when I first started, but then I opened my eyes and realised its not just what the work is that counts, but how the managers and the company treats you. Even you complained about that

Yes it's not perfect and the majority of management are ####s, yes it's changing but as are more jobs these days.

The actual job is okay. It's the frankly horrible managers that finally got to me. Which is why I left. And is the reason stated on my exit review.

Hopefully that small gesture will improve the managers attitude to his remaining staff. And yes. I did try to fight. But to be honest. It got to the point where I was fed up being the only one questioning management in the work time learning sessions whilst the rest of the delivery office stayed silent.

You lot bring it on yourselves.

I did but when I reviewed them against yours in an attempt to reject those of less value of yours, I couldn't find any. One half way decent post selling bikes, 1 calling people bozos and clowns, and this little attempt at a critique - not a lot to measure up to if I was being fair. Also as a large percentage of them are old News Stories, LTBs and Downloads it would make a very boring book but thanks for the suggestion anway.

I am not sure the jist of this response, I was trying to explain the reasoning as to why some long term staff may be disgruntled because of the changes they have endured, I was not moaning myself or trying to justify that moaning.

We are all different, we all see different things as issues - I personally love the physical aspect of the job being a bit of a fitness fanatic, that does n't mean those who are pushed to the limits of their fitness levels do not have a valid point when they moan about the overly physical aspect of the job. As you will discover with longer service the management are pretty incompetent and there sense of priority is all to cock, (try booking a day off in a weeks time for an urgent doctors appointment and see what a big deal that is).

Give it a year or so dude and you'll be moaning like a good un......
