Re: pub after work
Most if not all of our gaffers go out for a pint on some days at a pub near our office (with a few select posties who all wear uniform) in their high vis vests and with Royal Mail ID badges,etc....then return to the office and they all drive home....so why can't we go out for a pint in uniform...and we all get the bus home!

Nobody at our place would be seen in a pub with the DOM's.postypie wrote:Most if not all of our gaffers go out for a pint on some days at a pub near our office (with a few select posties who all wear uniform) in their high vis vests and with Royal Mail ID badges,etc....then return to the office and they all drive home....so why can't we go out for a pint in uniform...and we all get the bus home!
I staged a Roger Moore impersonator festival in my local village. There were a lot of eyebrows raised, I can tell you.

Re: pub after work
I used to go to my local on a Friday straight after work, pubs are too expensive now so I knocked it on the head a few years ago.

Re: pub after work
Though if you are the sort of person who likes to get drunk and get into a scrap, it isn't a good idea to give the police a solid lead like - he was a postman.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: pub after work
You can be dealt with under the conduct code for bringing the company into disrepute, if you do end up in fights or whatever.
A quick drink is one thing, getting plastered and brawling is another.
Take a change of clothes, not difficult.
