A few new faces on our picket line this morning. I was quite surprised to see a couple who turned up for their first picket of the dispute.

Just heard a story that a postie at Tunbridge Wells decided he would scab, crossed the picket line and went in but walked back out again just minutes later to stand on the line. . . . . anyone out there from T.Wells can explain why ? would love to think the screws managed to upset the only staff that went in :d'oh!

Well done sevenoaks not so good here in dorset just been out to see a mate and on my way back Isaw a WINTON POSTIE out on delivery what a sorry sight he was just cannot believe it what a prize sacb. I thought that they were keeping all strike breakers in for there own safety , but not at WINTON DELIVERY OFFICE the dum's there have no thought for the safety of the strike breakers but who gives a damn about him :sad: :sad: so sad to see it

friend in Biggin Hill just told me he's seen the posties up there delivering as normal . . . anyone know any different ?

I thought they would'nt ask non-strikers to go out,so the posties seen could be casuals/agency with post office hi-viz vests on!!!!!!

my mate said he recognised them as the usual guys and they were driving RM vans so not agency

Myself and another guy got there at about 4:45am and there were already 5 mates on the line, within 15 minutes we had 12. Then by 6am we had abut 20 on the line. We think about 5 people turned in. A few of these were either 'strike breakers' or even new starters on their first or second weeks. Felt sorry for these new guys as they could lose their jobs if they didn't go in but not too sure about it though. All in all a good turnout for us at Woking as on the last strike we had about 15 on the line each time.
Officially it's my long weekend off this weekend too and it's my day off tomorrow. I will go in on the line at about 6am.... well I reckon a lay in for an hour is ok!
It was cold this morning too, compared to other days recently, plus just standing on the line doesn't really help the circulation!
:Applause Hats off to our 'chef' with his BBQ's as well. We were fed and watered by a few people as at least 8 flasks of coffee were supplied. BBQ was sausages, bacon & burgers in rolls and kebabs as well.......!
:d'oh! The jacket spuds were like 'rock'! They made great hand warmers though... :Applause :dance
:Applause There was some talk of steak for Monday!! lmaooo

Let's see what happens tomorrow and on Monday/Tuesday. As we had some support from the public too.... much appreciated too. :Applause

Royal Mail have just stated that the amount of people working is 50% more than during the last strikes and in some offices 90% of staff are working normally :roll:

Our best support yet at Cambridge Delivery Office. 19 out of 255 staff worked today. One man went in at 0450, then 20 minutes later came out again and went home.
I'm a Postman at the Henley Road Delivery Office in Cambridge.
