ILSM throughput speed agreement

I've had a search and a look in the downloads but can't find anything about an agreed minimum throughput level for the ILSMs, like there is for manual letters and packets. I thought there should be one, does anyone know different?

My MC has always had 30k per hour as the 'minimum target' but now our new-ish mech-clueless shift manager has changed it to 35k.

Fellow ILSM operators will know that speeds fluctuate depending on the mail and how recently the machine has been cleaned (TPMed), which is now never done before I start my shift.

Also, they're taking our OEE sheets away in favour of am additional pc connected to the touch-screen where we just press what we're doing. This has the downside of not having an 'operators notes' facility, like the sheets, where you could write "crap mail, presented badly" or whatever.

This makes me feel that we're being pressured to hit the higher 35k constantly, with no regard for the quality of the mail or the previous 30k target.

"haob" dont know about minimum ILSM speeds, has'nt been an issue at GMC (yet)
maybe we're fortunate that both Mech manager and Shift manager (nights) are
well versed with the Mech side of things though we've had a few who were as
you say clueless. As for the OEE sheets ours have been replaced by a "minor
stops" sheet for recording jams and the only problem there seems to be with
the new box/screen is remembering what activity you've left it on when the
machine is being cleared down or if you get moved to do something else.

I have an update on this. I questioned my shift manager who claimed that the throughput rate was being set by Sheffield.

I also spoke to my union rep who said he's always refused to agree on a minimum mech throughput rate and, as long as we are running the machines as best we can with their condition/mail quality, that is good enough.

I'm happy to go for the faster target but it means I have to be more picky about machine conditions so the engineers have been getting called out a lot more. W

We've also been given more opportunities to perform TPM and a log sheet to record which parts are, or aren't, being done which is something we've been having a problem with.
