Somebody came to me this morning and said "when are we getting this money" I think the union need to broaden their communication network so that people know that the deal has been rejected. On wtl today the management were handing out letters to staff showing the agreement and some must have assumed it was a done deal!

Yes of course I could, I told him it would be in his wage this week together with the back pay and the colleague share money - no sense in telling lies.

I do hope you informed him of the restoration of NDA, SAT allowance, D2D and PHG allowance that he was now entitled to.......

That and he would be getting 1 in 4 Saturdays off, he would be getting a fair and equal workload, overtime payments would be honoured and he would be treated with dignity and respect AND I've never been known to tell a lie, ask anyone

I would like to see

increase pay of 4%
Back date pay
1,400 for lost colleague shares money
500 pounds for bonus from profit
Day off on Spring Bank Holiday (Saturday) and Summer Bank Holiday (end of August Saturday) every year.
Improved overtime rate so people can earn more money on floating week and make 1/2 walk worth out time to do it.
Increase Door 2 Door money by a fiver a week.
and no changes in pension
and privatisation bonus/shares offer worth 2,000
and no fecking clauses.

But I know we won't get them all though.

The pay will probably be backdated.

depending on how long we're in dispute (which could be months), it might not get backdated to the original date of april 1. like the last fiasco wasn't.

On what. Also how would you tackle the rather thorny issue of 1 group of workers getting paid a higher hourly rate than others.

RM are not going back to per item payment, until they bring in piece rate and minimum wage.

By the way not looking for a flame war, just trying to get people who dislike pro-rata payments to discuss the implications of their policy, and what solutions they are suggesting.

..... and look at the amount of hours they have to put in to get a decent amount. Also don't forget they have to fund their own replacements for sick and holidays, their own van, insurance and running costs. They aren't really PFWW drivers, they're owner drivers who do free advertising for PFWW.
