It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Guy in our office was telling me yesterday that he rang up about his mortgage. Apparantly if you have been with your bank over 5 years and havent defaulted on your mortgage then you can take a payment break of 3 months. It doesnt cost you anything and they just add the 3 months on the end.

They need 1 months notice , so ring them or pop in. Might not suit everyone but if it helps at least 1 then worth posting :Very Happy

Also if you need cash instantly then various cheque cashing centres that will take a cheque and not cash it for 1 month
Anywhere from £100-£600. All you need is chequebook, bankcard, recent payslip and utility bill

For every £100 cheque you get £87 cash. Not ideal but if needs must short term and you have no one knocking at your door or extra interest / penalties etc.
