The current offer is a Faustian one, get a pay rise but give up your democratic rights to remove labour and to protest pension changes and fight privatisation.

We don't give up our democratic right to remove our labour, we simply need to understand it is going to cost us £300. £300 we don't have.
Take the money - and go on strike anyway?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

The £300 is only money we don't have to a minority of members, the majority will have had it and spent it in their minds long before it's due date.
You would have to drag them kicking and screaming to the gate by the hair...which in some cases wouldn't be such a bad thing. :angel

you can always tell the ones who have already spent it because they ask if they will pay tax on it.
Confused... You won't be, after the next episode of. SOAP

LTB 464/13 - National Talks - Pay and Conditions

No. 464/2013
Ref: 60000
Date: 5th July 2013

TO: ALL BRANCHES WITH POSTAL MEMBERS

Dear Colleague

NATIONAL TALKS - PAY AND CONDITIONS

Following the rejection of Royal Mail’s pay and conditions offer, a meeting took place this week to confirm CWU’s reasons for rejection and explore a structure for future negotiations covering the issues published in yesterday’s Special Report.

Contrary to some media speculation based on a company press release, Royal Mail confirmed that the published offer was not their final position and they would be making a fresh pay offer in due course.

The CWU reaffirmed that we were committed to negotiations but also advised the company that if we could not resolve all outstanding issues, then a National industrial action ballot was inevitable. We expect further meetings in the coming weeks and any developments will be reported in due course.

Any enquiries on the content of this LTB should be directed to the DGS (P) Department.

Yours sincerely

Dave Ward
Deputy General Secretary (P)

I knew they'd be back.
Can't afford not to change the offer. Scared of IA and how it would affect the sell off.
Just remains to be seen what they're willing to do.
Though, I still maintain the first offer was made to make us accept a deal closer to what they actually intended in the first place.
As in, any offer made now is better than before, so we're more likely to say yes, a mere tactic.
Still not sure they'll be willing to go far enough for us or the union.
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't a Rep.
