Re: The Closed Pay Offer
You give the union the right to negotiate on your behalf and therefore the right to decide through the PEC whether a deal meets the objectives of the members and should be put to a vote.Theghost wrote:I always thought being a Union it was a Union of all members together and decisions being made as a Majority.
Some people may think this is a good deal and wish to take it up (Not that i do)
But wouldnt it be nice to be given the option.

The membership have just been consulted on pay and overwhelmingly endorsed the pay position of above inflation with no strings.
This deal does not meet those conditions and was therefore rejected.

Not really we didn't. It was sold to us in our DO that we either voted for it or the world would fall apart. We really didn't have a choice.clashcityrocker wrote:D2D into workload was part of BT2010 - and you did get a vote on it.Theghost wrote:

You vote yes. You vote no. You don't vote.
But D2D into workload wasn't agreed by the union without it being put to the members.

The union are following the position given to them by the membership on pay, pensions, overtime, job security and privatisation at conference and during the consultation ballot.OnAFlyer wrote:The CWU are asking the impossible and are going to f*ck this one up again, just as with every agreement since the way forward.

Well i for one will not give up my right to strike, especially after any ballot carries that mandate.

Re: The Closed Pay Offer
Why are people on here getting excited about being bribed a few hundred quid not to strike?
All this will we get £500 or £200+ £100 , do you not see what they are doing?
A few hundred and they can privatise without any threat of idustrial action ?
Will you be happy with that?

Well this would have to be one hell of a deal for me to recommend this so called deal to anyone with the privatisation on the horizon (will this deal ever be implemented after privatisation) and the pension issue as if inflation rises above 5% your pension will not keep up with that rate. A lot of things to consider not least workplace issues never mentioned and what is the strategy to deal with TNT POST nothing in this deal encompasses these most important issues, I know some would like this so called deal and vote for is just because they need the money but to sell out for such a crap deal is the worst thing we can do!. I think Royal Mail could do better than this if it was just about the money maybe 15% over three years with the balance up front ie 5.6% + 5.0 + 4.4% = 15% if it were just about the money remember a strike would be like a stake in the heart of a Royal Mail privatisation as would privatisation to us all and our future terms and conditions!.

have you worked out what this will cost as it seems to me it has a hell of a lot of noughts and would it be sustainable. We would all have to drum up a lot of business to pay the wages and pensions and dare I say it work a lot harderk979aaa wrote:Well this would have to be one hell of a deal for me to recommend this so called deal to anyone with the privatisation on the horizon (will this deal ever be implemented after privatisation) and the pension issue as if inflation rises above 5% your pension will not keep up with that rate. Well I think we should accept the deal, don't bother with the small print, agree a new working relationship and as soon as they talk privatisation deals and buggering about with the pension tell 'em to f*ck off and go on strike anyway. I mean who sticks to agreements these days certainly not RM.

Re: The Closed Pay Offer
the whole 3 year offer totals about 32 quid which is roughly about £10.69. per year. and for this they want to butcher our pensions and accept privatisation and changes to working. ALL for them AGAIN. PISS OFF
