Had enough - I've taken VR

Well after 32 years I've had enough. The job gets worse every day. I was thinking of hanging on for another year, but when VR was offered again earlier this year I decided to go for it. I think you know when the time has come to go, and it seemed right now. Sorted my last letter and handed in my uniform and security pass.
Looking forward to taking it easy and not dreading going in to work. Good luck to all of you. I think you are going to need it more than me.

Thanks for the good wishes guys. I will continue to look in RMC and follow what is happening. Glad I got out now though. I think the coming months are going to be difficult with privatisation looming. I am over 60 and so have already got my pension. With the VR lump sum I should be OK financially until I get my State Pension. That is unless this Government changes the rules for that too.
