One rule for the managers - another for us
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7029228.stm
From this article it appears that RM have had no problem settling with managers as soon as they make a fuss - yet we are ignored. I like the bit about the respective unions different approaches - as if we haven't been trying to negotiate sensibly for months - what a complete bunch of bastards we work under - it's war chaps and don't forget it.

We wish to serve - but we will not be servile

The managers main issues were pensions, right? So what the f**k?
Theyve probably been bribed with a new managers bonus scheme
or something....Unbelievable
The contempt management shows
for the real workers in this company is disgusting....every single new
starter at our PDO in the last year have decided to leave and many have
interviews whilst theyre on strike!!

Not doubt this is where AL/AC have been recently. Instead of looking after "our people", they've obviously ignored our plight and sided with the managers - who let's face it, are overpaid, underworked, not needed etc. Chop a few thousand managers jobs and then you'll see a company with money,

Browns silence
The only reason brown is so silent they do not want to let anyone know how much of our pension fund they have stolen it would be very embarrasing for them as they wish to announce an election. so they have reached an agreement with the dum's that was so trnsparent it is untrue so now we can expect royal mail bully boy tactics to come even faster than before they will use exec action now to force all of thewre changes in

I would not be surprised if the managers have been allowed to keep there current pension with no changes at all including leaving at 60, in RM eyes managers are more important than anyone else. On a seperate note everyone I know is going to work today and unable to afford to strike, sad days at the MDEC and yes if I was still with Royal Mail I would be outside.

How can the Managers agree a pay deal which includes pension reform when the 60 day Pension consultation period has only just started?
Talk about executive action, all parties involved in the Pension consultation -Manager,OPG's,Royal Mail and the Pension Board surely ALL have to agree to a solution.
One party can't simply say yes without the others agreement can they? That's a legal requirement surely?

I think your forgetting something here, the business can talk all day long about the pension but if the trustees approve of whatever action they need to take on pensions then it doesn`t matter a flying fluck what we think or want and thats a fact !!!! We can`t do squat apart from moan/strike etc and then well we might have no pension :( All thats going on just now is making sure that there we get the best out of what we have already paid in thus far togethor wiht whats in store, the Union might tell you other wise but from what i got told the other night from our area rep, the pension is gonna change like it or lump it !
