Pay Simplification?

Post by fishtank »

Just wondering since the proposed pension changes seem to be all about removing all links between real pay and pensions even in the career average pension whether one of the reasons behind it is to clear the way for a pay simplification deal next year.

One of the main reasons that certain supplements and allowances haven't gone into basic pay is the subsequent increase in pension liabilities from putting non-pensionable allowances into pensionable pay.

If these changes go ahead that will not really be an issue...or will it?

Pay Pensions Pay Pensions.....

As I see it you will effectively be paying for the so called new pension deficit out of your new pay rise.

Well that seems to be what Royal Mail want.
