When is a sticky not a sticky!

Post by Homo Harry »

Sorry... just whining at site admin here...

Imagine you're a newbie... and you log on...

The you come back a day later.

And all of the first half page is exactly the same....(cos most people don't scroll... they just look.. then move on if their interest aint piqued) would it entice you back, or would you realise that below the stickies, are more stickies??? And that you have to trawl halfway down before you found the discussions going on? ;)

Stickies, fine.. but vital stuff... not stuff that aint of an interest to those outside of that small group...

And it wears out my mouse scroll button every time i refresh!

Oh i get ya.

In here, quite a few of the topics at the top below stickies are 'Cemented' which means they are not stickies but stay where they are.
I use this method for important/interesting topics that could be lost as a stickie(you'd be suprised how many peeps ignore them) or do not need to be stickies.
You following me  :d'oh!

But i can see what you're saying, maybe there's too many of them.
I'll have a play around this w/e ,we are s**t busy now and like you say the newbies could miss out,be confused and the like with it.
Anybody else got anything to say on it or other bits.
All help, ideas, moans welcome, afterall if i can make it easier for you herberts then all the better.

Cheers Homo (did i really say that  ) :Very Happy

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
