A ROYAL Mail worker in touch with hate cleric Anjem Choudary downloaded bomb-making instructions, a court heard.
Mohammed Benares, 44, had 53 editions of online al-Qaeda magazine Inspire on his laptop plus documents promoting jihad, a jury was told.
One article called “How to make a bomb in the kitchen of your mom” gave step-by-step advice on making explosives with everyday ingredients. Others described how to blow up buildings and use AK-47 rifles, the court heard.
Cops who swooped on married Benares’s home in Saltley, Birmingham, in March last year found phone texts to and from Islamic extremist Choudary.
Prosecutor Adina Ezekiel said both men attended a central London demo organised to coincide with the tenth anniversary of 9/11.
Benares also searched online about killing people, the court heard. In one, he was said to have written: “Three places where you can kill someone in Islam in punishment.”
He denies three charges under the Terrorism Act 2000. The trial at London’s Southwark Crown Court continues.

People of all colours and creeds have been googling "How to Make a Bomb" for many many years ...
I guess because my name is Smith and I don't have a long stroky beard is the reason I've got away with it ...

Birmingham Royal Mail worker guilty of terror charges
Mohammed Benares convicted of three counts of possessing documents containing information likely to be useful to a terrorist
A Royal Mail worker from Birmingham has been found guilty of possessing terror documents including one entitled: ‘‘How to make a bomb in the kitchen of your mum.’’
Mohammed Benares, 45, from Alum Rock was convicted by a jury at London’s Southwark Crown Court of three counts of possessing documents containing information likely to be useful to a terrorist.
The documents included the online magazine Inspire, written and distributed on the internet by Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
The court heard that he deliberately downloaded the detailed terror guides which showed how to make a bomb and detonator and how to destroy a building and handle an AK47.
A total of 60 copies of documents from Inspire and 39 Ways To Serve And Participate In Jihad were found among Benares’ possession.
Analysis of his mobile phone found texts between himself and radical preachers Anjem Choudary and Abu Izzadeen.
Police arrested Benares at the three-bedroom terraced house where he lived with his wife in March last year.
His laptop, mobile phone and three hard drives were seized and later checked.
Detective Chief Superintendent Kenny Bell, from the West Midlands Police Counter Terrorism Unit, said: “These publications not only encourage the reader to carry out terrorist acts but also provide practical instructions.
“They are dangerous documents and we have seen them play a major part in influencing the actions of terrorists recently convicted of attack planning.
“Our Prevent team has been working with community groups and educational establishments to help them understand the legislation and advise people about the risks of downloading these publications.”
Benares was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on July 15.

wonder if they will deport him after he completes sentence ?
Though to be fair he hasn't done something as dangerous as having a swim when the boat race is on....

Rumour has it he was going to ram his CDV into the side of Dudley library but it broke down and he couldn't get enough explosive in the back what with the trolley and a full walk.
