does that mean the c2w is strictly halfrauds only? i ask as colleagues have found local shops willing to take the voucher and had a far better range of bikes to choose from, ie not a halfrauds own brand or boardman, i previously had the boardman sport mtb, but their are far better bikes for the same money at a reputable company.
I've had 3 bikes through the scheme and only 1 has been an off the shelf Halfords product, the other 2 i contacted the C2W people via email and asked for a specific bike which they sourced and had delivered to my local Halfords store. They only problem is certain brands are exclusive to other cycle chain stores and are unavailable through our scheme, it's a case of finding what you want and asking.
I've had no problems with the Halfords customer service and unless you find another brand heavily discounted i think you will find it very hard to beat the Boardman range of bikes for value.

I'm on my 3rd scheme, got a hybrid 1st then put 100 and then 800 pounds towards boardman road bikes. I'm havin a mtb when ive paid off my last one in october. And I've heard that its going up to 1000 and we will be able to use some independants. Fingers crossed.

just applied for my 2nd scheme,got a Carrera Road Bike the last time around,have done a fair few miles on that one and is taken its toll on the bike,was hoping that they would increase the amount we could spend but still limited to £500,when you reckon they will increase it to £1000 as could get myself a decent RoadBike for that amount.

I doubt they'll increase it - decreasing it by a factor of 10 is probably more likely if we are privatised, as staff turnover will be so high that they'll want to recoup the payment in the first week

Hi, how did you manage to add money and get a Boardman over the £500? I am really keen on the Boardman Hybrid Pro (£999) and have tried everything to get Halfords to let me add the £499 with no joy. I have tried different branches even e mailed Halfords cycle2work, who say it cannot be done as the bike would be jointly owned hence not qualify for tax relief, so frustrating! If you got it from another Boardman dealer who and where are they please. I also asked the cycle2work people if RM had any plans to increase the limit in line with the full £1,000 Halfords normally allow and their reply was not to their knowledge did RM have any such plans.
Result in adding to your loc...I have just got a Boardman Road bike retail @ £649,went into local store and asked if any discount as only had 500 loc and it was the ex demo bike,last one in stock,they agreed to let me have it for 600,and said they would allow me to add the 100 to my loc...so agreed to collect the following week.
Got to the store this week and manager said that he had been told I couldn't add to my loc and 500 was the limit,so anyway he then states that he would let me have the boardman for the 500 loc and said as long as I spend 100 in the shop, which cutting to the chase I get free £100 to spend on kit so picked up Garmin and Boardman Road Bike for the £600 I was originaly spending on just the bike, Left well chuffed, and a great improvement on my Carerra. RESULT!

i used an out of date £100 voucher to get the garmin edge 200, they weren't going to let me use it, but coz i said i verified it was ok with customer services (i did), they took it.
Has anyone used their voucher in Evans cycles? I'm sure I read someone had but I can't find the post now. I phoned them on their national number but the guy was completely unhelpful. After some googling I found the store number and the chap there said no problem. Thing is one of the guys at work said another shop has to give Halfords 10%. Does this mean I only have £450 of my £500 to spend unless I head to Halfords?

the bike cost £440, they let me add the remaining £60 to the £50 accessories voucher, they shouldn't do that, that £60 should have been forfeited.
so i didn't lose anything even though i didn't use Halfords.

99% certain that you can't use Evans Cycles, they run their own scheme (Ride2Work) while we have to use the Cycle2Work scheme run by Halfords
Debber....be careful with that Boardman bike...every time I saw him at the Tour, going well, he fell of on a corner, Lol!
Chris Hoys got a new line, but I think they are only available with someone like Evans. Shame...

Lmao. Thanks for the advice but I went with the Boardman. Picked it up the other day, seems really fast, bit sore on the ass so far though. Kinda sounds like working for Royal Mail.
