Letter to the Editor: Royal Mail delivered my birthday card to a launderette
1:20pm Tuesday 11th June 2013 in Letters
What on earth has happened to the great delivery service of the Royal Mail?
In the last two weeks I have had two letters private and confidential into my letter box, both for my neighbour which I put through their door.
It had their number and postcode - can the postman not read.
Now today I have received a letter with my name, address, postcode, delivered into the laundrette in Abbotsbury Road - it was one of my birthday cards.
Last week a postman dropped mail in the street and a passer-by put it into the number it said on the envelope.
What happened to our lovely postmen who can read?
If people can't read they should not be allowed to deliver the mail.
Mrs D. Day
Aberconway Road, Morden

You need to let your local office know. They have most likely put a poor casual or new part timer in your area who is being pressured to complete his round with no training ( speaking from experience) he is no doubt rushing around trying to complete so he doesn't encounter the wrath of his manager. If the manager doesn't hear about it... The postie doesn't know and then thinks its ok to rush and make mistakes!!
