ROYAL Mail employees donned shorts to help raise funds to battle cancer.

Lorna Ord and Staci Hawkins organised the football tournament in aid of the charity Prostate Cancer UK.

Nine six-a-side groups from a number of city organisations battled it out at Plymstock school's 3G football pitch for the honour of being top team in what turned out to be a "competitive" tournament.

The teams included staff from Royal Mail, Devon and Cornwall Police, Morley Rangers football team, Plymouth Hope and a group of friends from the Plymstock area.

Lorna said there was a great atmosphere throughout the day, with a team made up of Royal Mail employees finally coming top.

She said: "The tournament was an excellent way to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK and great to see players from all aspects of life in Plymouth playing with such sportsmanship and respect for each other."

Lorna paid thanks to Plymstock School for hosting the tournament. She said more than £300 was raised for the charity, which Royal Mail bosses agreed to match.
