What democracy!

Post by buzzer »

It seems to me that democracy is under threat in this country. When you go to vote it seems as if all the main parties are of one colour. You cannot vote for who is on the board and running your job, even though it's your future! Allan Leighton is not only seeking to subdue the workforce and union, but he also controls the media (director of Sky) and so the strike gets very little airtime. The ruling class, like all those before them have given up on democracy. The very worse part is that they are very good at pretending they are the defenders of democracy. I fear for the future of the poor working people.

Well said, buzzer. :Applause

Personally, I'm of the opinion that parliamentary democracy, is sham democracy.

Maybe I'm being just a little bit cynical, but if Leighton has interests in Sky, and the BBC is state-owned by the very same government that owns Royal Mail, does this explain the coverage given to Leighton on Sky and the vague simplistic explanation of the strikes on BBC?!?!?

leighton is a member of the ruling classes now and along with brown is trying to shaft us all and mislead the public with the very spin he promised had gone when Blair left government. leighton knows all the tricks, has his fingers in the media pie and is denying the truth while being given airtime on sky to paint us as the bad guys, BBC are towing the government line on this, is ITV strong enough to tell the truth?
