I think we should carry on delivering Amazon parcels in boycott if the situation come up.

Had a delivery from Amazon Logistics today, had a chat with the driver who is employed by Amazon and he said they started 3 weeks ago based in Horndon (Essex) but were moving to a much bigger depot at Basildon (Essex) very shortly.

He said that they are only delivering to high density areas (for now?) and any rural deliveries will still go via RM, Yodel etc....

The guy that delivered to me was based in Milton Keynes.

Makes sense for them to deliver the high density areas themselves as it is cost effective and leave the outlying districts to other carriers though it will impact on whatever discount they currently receive.

BAD HERSFELD, GERMANY, JUNE 3:
Several hundred workers staged a one-day strike at a German plant of US-based Internet retailer Amazon on Monday to press for better pay and benefits.

The job action at the Bad Hersfeld site was the third in three weeks at Amazon’s German operations.

“It will last the whole day, until the end of the late shift at 10.30 p.m. (2030 GMT),” a union spokeswoman said.

The union insists on a collective bargaining agreement. The company has rejected the demand and says it pays well by the standards of the logistics sector.

Amazon has about 9,000 staff in Germany. More than 3,300 people work at the Bad Hersfeld site. Around 2,000 people are employed at the warehouse in Leipzig in eastern Germany where the work slowdown was also taking place.
