Oh I think from personal experience that managers are safe enough.. for now. Doesn't seem to matter how many cock-up's, failures, sickies, grievances etc etc they cause, they never get more than a finger wagging before returning to the coffee machine / smoke shed lifestyle they know and love so well. If privatisation happens, they will be replaced by cheaper "team leaders" from the uniformed ranks.
I reckon the Union should get ready to expose the excessive numbers of "managers without portfolio" that are bleeding the business of money for doing nothing. Who would want to buy shares in a business with so much waste in it?
Someone who could buy it cheap knowing all along that there is an easy way to cut costs.
I also think that, while managers may be safe now, the actions they do now will be logged and probably used against them in the future. It demonstrates a pattern of behaviour.
From top to bottom this company is f****d. Such a toxic culture to work in, bullying from the top down. No-one is immune and us at the bottom get it the worst of course.
Can't say I particularly 'feel sorry' for the linos, they take the job on and that was their choice, a lot of them knew what it entailed. It's certainly not a job I'd like to do though.
Line manager got away with it and has been reinstated but 2 postmen who ( allegedly) hid 8 items of D2D got sack yesterday and they both have over 30 years service (each) in the Royal Mail.

Can any of us say we're genuinely by this?
The line manager probably laid the blame on the 2 posties, with 'help' of more managers.
The office was East Oxford and the manager got off with a warning. Two postman were sacked after and the office have walked out today requesting an official ballot. Seems like revenge from managers!

Good. Wish they'd do these kinds of things in my office, but they won't, and when it's their turn on the chopping block they then realise why we should all support each other and fight for us as a whole.

Best of luck to these chaps and I hope the local public will get to know what has gone on to ensure support for their action.
