Check that he hasn't drilled holes in the bottom of the bottlesDuring summer (assuming at some point we get a decent one), it is necessary to keep hydrated, and my boss has provided us with drinks bottles to take with us. Yes, that's right, RM manager in caring shocker (or maybe preventing his own neck on chopping block). Even early on, it can get quite warm, and I would not want to go 2 hours without a drink.
To me, it just seems like a punitive punishment. Maybe, if you and your colleagues productivity fell, they would have a change of mind.

Re: NO DRINKS ALLOWED ON IPS
We only have 8 IPS frames and we could have 2 each most days, 40-odd walks and we rarely have more than 4 or 5 on IPS - some days it's only 2 of us.Senior Service wrote:It lasted about a week in our office before we all ignored it.
As for stools, we got new stools but they cant be used as we are shoulder to shoulder on IPS due to lack of space!

there will be no food/snacks/drinks allowed on IPS. There are about 5 in the office who are rooted to IPS for the first 2 hours in a morning therefore we will be allowed no drink although we will be allowed drinks once IPS work has finished.
Amazingly this does not affect the Dom who sits in his office just yards away, is this unlawful ? or another made up rule by our DOM
It's all about the managements obsession with efficiency again, especially with the new revisions, where they have cut so much IPS time out
with the introduction of 100% BSI for some, that you are expected to stand there like a robot transfixed to the job at hand, staring at your frame and not
looking, speaking or anything else.
There are always clumsy lumps who spill drinks on the IPS but with the correct drinking vessel there should be no problem.
Just RM being petty, I have seen managers telling people not to drink on frames while they sup theirs in the corner of the room!
Always be one step ahead, play their game but be wiser. Revenge is sweet.

Well in fairness they're hardly likely to spill it on any mailvigilante wrote:Beaker54 wrote:After the new revision has gone through our DOM who does have an habit of making up his own rules has said

Re: NO DRINKS ALLOWED ON IPS
There are two types of example good examples and bad examples - we can point to the managerial grades and use them as.................well no prizes for guessing - the trick is to recognise one from t'other.vigilante wrote:dvbuk55 wrote:Well in fairness they're hardly likely to spill it on any mailvigilante wrote:Beaker54 wrote:After the new revision has gone through our DOM who does have an habit of making up his own rules has said

Just a passing comment on the comment about being hydrated. I think RM are aware that employees need to be hydrated. Our office has a couple of water dispensers in the office and we all have available a drinks bottle to take with us on delivery. Also, you may find that both coffee and tea are diuretic...it makes you pee more thereby DEhydrating you.

Re: NO DRINKS ALLOWED ON IPS
Look you just don't get it when your revision goes through you will only have 6 ips frames which are now called grenocks {not sure about the spelling} WCM states only one person per frame, management will ignore this and you will be crammed in like sardines giving you no room for tea, coffee, water, or an electric cigarette. Get used to it now, or do as we do and ignore it.

Same here but its more of power thing. DOM is in charge and wants everyone to know. The only place you can consume food & drink is the canteen.Beaker54 wrote: there will be no food/snacks/drinks allowed on IPS.

Which is what the canteen is for - what would happen if they closed the canteen because nobody used it? You know the old saying, "use it or lose it".Indy wrote:Same here but its more of power thing.
