Well if we are privatised, and Moya doesn't know that already, the shareholders will soon point it out to her.If she is not up to the job of purging us of these ejits then they'll want someone who will. She will gladly step a side with a golden handshake after achieving her goal of getting us privatised.fishtank wrote: If I was Moya Greene and we do end up privatised I would give serious consideration to writing off a couple of hundred million and purging this business of around 60-70% of the present management structure who are plainly not fit for purpose...wipe the slate clean and start again from scratch.

THE FLOOR IS YOURS
No i don't use a trolley but that as you well know is down to the whole office not using them either because both the union and the management liked it that way,the fact that trolleys are going to be started to be used again
P.S Happy new haircut for last week!

Some managers are just spineless and won't take the tiny risk of having to justify not issuing a stage due to mitigating circumstances to their boss.
They wrongly believe that not issuing a stage marks you out as weak when in fact issuing a stage because you are terrified of what the DSM might say means you really are pathetic and weak.
Of course some managers are lazy, some are just plain vindictive and some are so stupid they really do think they are doing the business a favour by constantly staging people.
The truth is there is no censure or warning for not staging people,no targets to hit and no bonus to make,It is such a long, drawn out and expensive business to dismiss through the attendance procedure and then recruit replacements in this job that it isn't really worth the hassle for the business to use it to manipulate staffing levels.
The farcical situation is the business wants less people on stages but their frontline managers fail to grasp such a simple concept, think they know better and subsequently fail to implement the procedure properly.
If I was Moya Greene and we do end up privatised I would give serious consideration to writing off a couple of hundred million and purging this business of around 60-70% of the present management structure who are plainly not fit for purpose...wipe the slate clean and start again from scratch.
Very true.
These managers should look at each case properly and should find most don't require stages to be issued.
Unfortunately, as you say FT that they are either scared, vindictive victimisers or just weak.
It is in my experience that some are serial issuers, whether it is to think the company will praise and reward them, furthering their 'career' or just plainly ignorant of the proper unbiased
review of a members sickness, or just plain nasty.
Always be one step ahead, play their game but be wiser. Revenge is sweet.
