excess travel payments
if i travel an extra 48 miles per day, would i get the full 5 years travelling payment.

Is your office closing?
If no then you will not be able to claim for 5 years.
If yes then you claim 3 years on the full mileage allowance, 1 year half that amount and the final year is half again. = 50p a mile, 25p a mile, 12.5p per mile.
Minus your normal home to office mileage of course.
Not sure if the compulsory - non-compulsory move criteria is still the same though if you change offices.
