What's changed now since January? Surely the 8 hours work you do each day still needs to be done, so why reduce you to 6 hours a day over 4 days. Have you a rep? Did you sign for a 3 day week under family friendly?

DOM cant change the days you work if your on a set rota. Only leave reserves would probably end up with different days off each week as it depends on what they are covering.

No they don't have to give you 28 days notice that is a myth,it can be whatever is written in the contract of employment or can be varied by mutal consent of the parties involved. If the employer however tries to vary a term of the employment contract but does not get the employee's consent, that variation is not recognised as lawful.(Rigby v Ferodo Ltd 1987).

However ,the courts and tribunals will treat the employee as having consented to the variation if he/she does not object to the change within a reasonable period of time. :wave

The 28 days is the time it takes to go through the Industrial Relations Framework.
If the rep hasn't gone to disagreement over the change, then there is no 28 days.

If they are bringing the changes in by Executive Action your only recourse is to go and stand on the gate.

yep

you must raise the complaint with the manager as a grievance.
included in the letter should be the reasons for complaint, for example your problems with childcare.

has this happened to the full-timers, either now or in the past.

it may be that you have a case of less favourable treatment...not saying there is, only highlighting the possibility

As CCR says, you should be on the gate but you need the majority of the office to go with you..........I personally don't know how many in my office would go out (I know I would to protect even those I don't like but I doubt it would be reciprocated  ).
