Re: trolleys
I'm quicker using a trolley as heavy pouches slow me right down and it's a pain having to keep reaching in to for it for packets and the PDA.

Re: trolleys
I find that using a trolley gives me more back pain than carrying a bag. The trolley needs to come with an adjustable handle. Unfortunately RF with their cost cutting wont pay for them. Sorry but its not one size fits all.

Re: trolleys
The packets (mostly parcels these days) makes it hard to use bags on some loops, and on some days like wednesday... Even when you manage to retrieve the the shoe-sized parcels from the pouch, putting them back can be a pain. Constantly taking the bag off shoulder to retrieve big packets and putting them back is annoying.
I will happily use a trolley every time even where the bag is small but we all have to work with other people so compromises are in order... Some insist on driving round to deliver to deliver packets that could easily be put on a 2-bag trolley.
Security of mail is an issue but that issue was there even more so with bikes and with HCT. At least you can get your LWT into flats (and even offices with a lobby) easier..
LWTs saves your back - simple!

and what did branch say when they were contacted.kitkatchunky wrote:the dom in our office has said people using trolleys that are going over are going to get in to hot water with him as he doesn't want to pay overtime.
I'd like to see how far a Manager cold cover up on a grievance for non payment of OT when the postie was using mandatory equipment and thats why the manager refused it. Its management trying to scare people - scare them back and get the Union involved thats why we pay subs after all.

If you're meant to be using a trolley USE IT! If you get an injury and you wasn't using a trolley when you was meant to then the DOM will just throw you to the wolves.

Exactly. Turn a blind eye, but when it backfires, it's you on the chopping block.
