Sheltered accommodation for the oldies is the worst. Press button, red light activates, speaker starts ringing, ringing stops after 20 seconds, unable to press another button until the light goes out 30 seconds later. After you've repeated that rigmarole about 3-4 times, to cap it all you find the old sod in the first address is in but too deaf and couldn't hear the bell.

One sheltered place, the residents come out into the mile long hall and look at you when you ring. Oh good, they're checking who it is. Then they disappear back in and leave you there as they dont know you despite the fact you're wearing a godawful dayglo orange coat and carrying a bag.

Endorsing the letters as no access is a lot quicker than delivering them in 9 out of 10 blocks of flats. I used to be on a Saturday rota with two blocks of flats you could never get in. And nobody answered before 10am on a Saturday morning. Saved me 10 minutes every time.
Well if you were my matrix man we would be having words on Monday.

You need to know what key the block takes. 90% are FB1 others are FB2 and if the emergency plate had a small round hole you will need a drop key.

We had the auditers in recently and we now have to endorse each and every letter of the block you couldnt get in not just the top one of the bundle. You can easily end up endorsing 100+ letters when you get back if they are big blocks :arrrghhh
Any married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing.
