Why didn't you say this at the Labour conference!

Post by stephen500 »

Latest on CWU website:
Billy Hayes, general secretary, said “We are very disappointed that Allan Leighton and Adam Crozier are nowhere to be seen when the future of British postal services are at stake.

“The government has shown complete disinterest in the fate of this dispute. If this was Northern Rock they would be pouring money in. This is a company that they own and they seem to have no interest whatsoever.â€

The sooner we vote that soft arse out, the better. He's nothing but an embarrassment to a city which has produced people like Walter Crane, Leo McGree, Big Jim Larkin, Jack Jones, Jim Nolan and Maria O'Reilly. Of course, they weren't all out for a cushy job with the Labour Party. They were proper socialists who fought for our class.

Well....... I would argue that was self-defence...... and as I'm using an analogy, what better way would it be for a "beaten wife" to show the "breadknife" than to suspend ALL payments to the Labour Party...while they aren't supporting us...

Just watch out for the backlash if we don't follow through with our resolve...

Most of the union leaders are self serving scum bags at the end of the day and even with the best of them (Mark Serwotka and Bob Crow) it should still be the case that they are under rank and file control.

Unions have become so bureaucratic and top down with so many rules and regulations that always seem to favour the status quo. UNISON is terrible from that point of view and our leadership couldn't be anymore shoved up New Labour's arse.

For a start why don't union leaders get the average wage of their membership rather than £80,000 a year? (or £200,000 in the case of the leader of the TUC). It really pisses me off how much they get paid.

Also why do they always end up Sir this or Lord that with a place in the House of Lords? I don't trust most of the union leaders as far as I could throw them. And sad to say I don't think Billy Hayes is up to the task of what is needed from what I've seen.

For the very same reasons that those who become rich by paying minimum wage can say they've "worked hard".....

Being a Union Gen Sec isn't about being in touch with your members. It's about wearing a suit and mixing with people outside of your class... you'll invariable lose your roots. And from there.... when you're placed under pressure... because as a Union Exec, your job is Union Exec and you are no longer able to drop back into the job you left, you will be unemployed. 100% of Exec members are only employed until the next Exec election.... if they lose, they're out of a job.

So....... they look to how they'll get on... and being a Lord, aint a bad career move, wouldn't do it myself, but if you're prepared to suck up, then I guess it wouldn't be so distasteful.

Let's go for an example....

Union Leader A. Is asked by the PM to scuttle a strike. But Union Leader A knows if he scuttles said strike, he'd maybe be out of a job... and PM says... "oh no.. we'd reward you with this job as Lord Scab-Bastard....on more money for doing less..."

ya see... where OUR interests aren't with those who may get more out of a Govt that is out to destroy us.....

Hmmmmmmm..... time and tide.....
