Jury Service

Off last week on Jury Service, on going in yesterday i was given a special leave form to fill in,
just basic details really nothing too technical. It was the wording of the form that bugged me.
"You were recently granted the privilege of Special Leave by the Staff Resources Manager"
Now i see it as doing my civic duty and dont believe i need to be "Granted the privilege of
Special Leave" to do it.Am i just nitpicking over RMs way of wording this or is it another
example of RM being out of touch with modern ways.

Next time you do some overtime write in the docket...You were recently granted the privilege of my time and effort....

Or if you didn't want to do the jury service, you could try telling them that the Staff Resources Manager hasn't granted you the privilege of Special Leave.

(Although personally I would have had fewer capital letters in the sentence. Morons.)

I think RM have some special get out clause to keep people off jury service. When I got called up I sent off my forms before speaking to management. Didn't realise I could have escaped it. That being said I really enjoyed so I was quite pleased with the way it all turned out!
