We've just completed our resign, but before the resign started we identified lapsing duties, and ordered them 1st to lapse,2nd to lapse, etc. If you picked one of those duties you knew that if we were required to lapse you could be moved.

Dingo it's not to bully people into working faster it's to bully them into working for free (starting early working through MR) It makes all the difference in the world if they start early it's the only way most people can complete the work allocated to them via the AGREED TOOLS of Pegasus and IWT.
Working for free exempts them from being tested, well it certainly does in our office.
I've been tested numerous times whereas some early starters that I know are much slower than me never get tested.

Ps. Fish on the occasions the early starters get bullied, I now think... f**k them it's no more than they deserve. They only come in early so their colleagues will get bullied instead.

"Flexibility" should be resisted in all its forms when it comes to industrial relations. Cheap migrant labour and zero hours contracts is what owners mean by "flexibility".

They should bring in clocking in so as to ensure no starting early, in fact watch this space!

Dan , because this union has got most policies , ie doing the job properly , not agreeing 100bsi , no savings unless link to lump sums , absorption in line with annex a and b and an hundred and one other policies.

The fact remains how many offices , Branch's , Divisions and indeed CWU HQs convinced members to do the job properly ? And how many offices have agreed 100BSi , later starts and no menu of options despite advice from CWU HQs to the contrary.

Until this union decided to reconnect with the membership in all areas then this what will continue is that the places which are better represented will get the better deals and those who are not will suffer.

Dingo, I totally agree that the membership bring a lot of the problems upon themselves by not working to agreements. However, much of this can be attributed to the fact that there is very poor guidance, again in some areas from area reps to divisional reps and on to the likes of Dave Ward. There support infield appears to many to be next to nothing and that we are left to our own devices to tackle the difficulties created by management. The whole area of representation from DW down to local rep needs to be significantly improved if we are to be seen by Royal Mail as a organisation that can look after the welfare and working conditions of the members.
