So there are positives then in that these chaps are not forming an orderly queue down at the local Jobcentre each week and they can do a lot less damage on WCM than they could in the operation - personally I think it's a win win situation and the business should be congratulated.

Story doing the rounds that the old Professor has had a fall out with Royal Mail directors and resigned. If this is true how will it effect world class. Its his baby so if Royal Mail carry on with it they will have rebrand it anybody heard similar stories?

That would put an end to WCM in it's present form.

Knowing RM they would put a small project team together (20-30 graduates) and use the professors methodology to 'create' something different ... but at the same time reassuringly similar  More project plans ... documentation ... jobs :Very Happy ... and most important of all ... BULL$HIT! :thumbup

The WCM nonsense was fully endorsed by "forward thinking" empty heads at Gloucester about 18 months ago. It was everywhere, as is the way the crap. Then it was announced Gloucester was for the chop. WCM was dropped with immediate effect. Goodbye and good riddance WCM.

Rumours circulating around our MC that the professor has been given the boot....
And after a while, you can work on points for style,
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.

You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.

I wonder if the professor has copyrighted the whole World Class Manufacturing methodology and how eager he would be to sue anyone who tried to come up with anything too similar?

Judging from what people have said about it why use a Manufacturing methodology in a service business, 'you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear'," Pigs might fly",me say crap is crap, then again I have not earned the title of professor. :nana :nana :nana :nana :nana

Or, "You can't polish a turd......but you can roll it in glitter." Which seems to fit the bill here. :chuckle

Professor Jaminthemachina :hmmmm he must have made plenty of cash from this. Such luminaries as Pirelli, Fiat, Volvo and Chrysler have all swallowed his particular brand of snake oil. http://nraombakc.blogspot.co.uk/2012/02 ... a-way.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

At the first sniff of a consultant being invited into any organisation, the people who work in that organisation should immediately walk out and refuse to return until they are given a written agreement that no consultants will ever be invited in again.

Consultants are hired to cut jobs and make the survivors work harder for less pay. The Royal Mail managers who believed that postal workers would fall for this bollocks dressed up as Eastern mysticism have proved they have no respect for their colleagues and they probably have no respect for any other human beings either.

The Chief Executives of Royal Mail and the Post Office are really consultants. Public services should be run by people who have the confidence of their staff.

Royal Mail have decided to dispense with the Professor and his team and progress World Class Mail internally.
This means they get to judge their own progress so...of course it will be a success. :whistle
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
