Royal Mail van and car collide on A3072 in Holsworthy

A Royal Mail van and car collided on the A3072 in Holsworthy this morning forcing the road to be closed.

The red Ford Transit Royal Mail Van and black Honda Civic, registered to an address in Holsworthy, collided on the A3072 Rydon Road at around 9.10am.

The crash, which occurred approximately 100 yards from The Rydon Inn heading towards Bude, resulted in one of the vehicles overturning onto its side.

Police said both drivers were out of the car and were “conscious and breathing”. They remain at the scene at this time and are being checked over by paramedics.

Officers said a third vehicle, a silver Audi A3, registered to an address in Holsworthy, had also become involved in the collision but was not involved in the initial crash.

Police have closed the road in both directions between Bude Road Garage and The Rydon Inn.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternative route where possible.
